Trains discharge large numbers of people. These people use railway platforms, concourses, bridges and underpasses to disperse. These key movements need to be analysed to assess safety and quality of service to passengers. 

We carried out a piece of research for RSSB in conjunction with Sotera Risk Solutions. The movement of passengers boarding and alighting at a terminal end platform and travelling through ticket barriers was considered.

Various station layouts were used to provide a detailed analysis. Dynamic models were run through the spaces and a variety of data was analysed.
