Stations
PROJECT OVERVIEW
Client: WYG / BDP
Sector: Stations & Interchanges
Location: Russia
Year: 2012
Working with WYG and BPD architects, Crowd Dynamics have analysed the adequacy of a number of design options to improve rail stations in the Krasnodar Territory, to accommodate increased patronage as a result of the Winter Olympics. Stations considered included Hosta, Lazarevskya, Loo, Tuapse and Tver.
Demand and patronage forecasts for different development scenarios were modelled for each station to assess level of service at all points within and external to the building and to model evacuation times. Design issues were found as a result of this analysis and corridors, doors and bridges had to be widened in certain locations to meet level of service requirements and evacuation times.
