Crowd Dynamics provided input on the development of movement strategy for a major regeneration area including vehicle, cycle, public transport and walk strategies. This included forecasting impacts and preparation of schematic designs for links and junctions.​

We worked on behalf of the local regeneration agency to prepare a detailed movement strategy to allow comprehensive development of a major underutilised area immediately north of the city centre. Phase 1 of the development incorporating a 250,000 sq. ft. retail quarter and cinema opened in May 2014.

An essential component of the strategy was the removal of the ‘severance’ to pedestrian and cyclists caused by the Inner Ring Road. Options to transform pedestrian priority across the road were identified and tested. The Phase 1 crossing scheme is now in place. We provided expert witness to the recent CPO inquiry for the link road to provide access to Phase 2 development.
